Frank J. Oteri‘s 2014 choral piece Love Games, commissioned by the Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) for their 2015 Radio Radiance series, is part of a WWFM.org webcast featuring all five Radio Radiance commissions that has been made available for streaming on demand.

Scored for girls chorus, harpsichord, and two tambourines, Love Games consists of settings of three poems of Lady Mary Wroth (1587-1652), the earliest published woman sonneteer writing in the English language. It was first performed on April 25, 2015 at SubCulture in New York City in a YPC concert hosted by WNYC’s John Schaefer also featuring the four other works created for the 2015 Radio Radiance series by Samuel Adler, Ryan Lott (a.k.a. Son Lux), Caroline Mallonée, and Aaron Siegel, all of which were were conducted by Francisco J. Núñez. A mere four minutes of music, Love Games can be heard on the webcast from 35:41 to 39:30 There’s also an interview with Oteri by John Schaefer before the performance, starting at 29’48”. In addition, there’s a bonus webcast featuring a panel discussion with the five composers and Núñez moderated by WWFM’s Davis Osenberg.
