Commissioned by the Global Premiere Consortium Commissioning Project, Andrea Clearfield’s new work for marimba and string quartet, a space between, will receive its world premiere on February 11 at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center of the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, with faculty percussionist Lee Hinkle who spearheaded the consortium, alongside with a quartet made of members on the string faculty. The piece will be heard again on February 17 in Washington, D.C. with the 21st Century Consort.  Additional performances are being scheduled. Find out more about the consortium and the project here.
